Player Guide
Welcome to Praxis Roleplay. This guide explains how the server operates, what is expected of you, and how to succeed here. This is not a full rulebook — it is a practical breakdown of how to actually play the server correctly.
Getting Started
- Join the Discord and stay connected while playing
- Register in CAD where applicable
- Ensure your microphone and push-to-talk are working
- Review Core Expectations below
- Connect to the server and begin roleplay
Core Expectations
- Stay in character at all times while in-game
- Treat every situation as if it is real — your life matters
- Build roleplay — do not rush to violence or shortcuts
- Use common sense and realistic decision-making
- Respect other players and staff
How Roleplay Works Here
Praxis is built around structured, realistic roleplay. That means:
- Situations should develop over time
- Conversations matter more than instant action
- Conflict should escalate naturally
- Actions should make sense for your character
If your first move is violence, you are doing it wrong.
Escalation & Conflict
- Start with interaction (talk, presence, commands)
- Build tension through roleplay
- Escalate only when justified
- Use force only when necessary and earned
There is no “rush to shoot.” Every situation should have buildup.
Common Violations (Avoid These)
- RDM (Random Deathmatch) – killing without valid roleplay
- VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch) – using vehicles as weapons without justification
- Metagaming – using information your character would not know
- Powergaming – forcing actions or outcomes unrealistically
- FailRP – acting in ways that break realism
If it wouldn’t make sense in real life, don’t do it here.
New Life Rule (NLR)
- If your character dies, that situation is over for you
- You do not return to the scene
- You do not seek revenge
- You forget the events that led to your death
Treat it as a clean reset.
Communication Standards
- Use a working microphone at all times
- Keep communication clear and respectful
- Avoid yelling, mic spamming, or disruptive behavior
- Stay in character unless absolutely necessary
Good communication is the foundation of good roleplay.
Departments & Structure
Praxis operates under a Department of Public Safety (DPS) structure:
Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and other services follow unified standards
Departments have leadership, training, and clear expectations
Certifications and progression are handled through SAPOTA Academy
If you join a department, you are expected to take it seriously.
Progression & Involvement
- Participate consistently
- Build a believable character
- Follow server standards
- Contribute to roleplay, not just consume it
Opportunities (departments, leadership, etc.) are earned through activity and behavior.
Final Notes
- This server rewards effort, not shortcuts
- If you are unsure about something — ask staff
- Full rules and detailed policies are available in the Docs
Play it smart. Play it realistic. Build something worth being part of.
